The festival presents African films in Luxor and describes itself as a return and celebration of African identity through cinema. The 16th edition runs from 28 March to 3 April 2027.
Its site says the festival was placed in Luxor because the city has few cultural and artistic events, and to move arts events beyond Cairo and Alexandria. The 15th edition ran from 29 March to 4 April 2026.
